Blogging must be fantasy, right?

Updated: Jun 30, 2024

Hey there, I'm not a fantasy wizard, I'm just a humble blogger! 🧙‍♂️ When I say blog, I'm not talking about a mystical spell book but a good ol' "weblog" where folks like me spill the beans on our thoughts, ideas, and adventures in a time-traveling format filled with fact finding. Blogging is like a never-ending storybook where you can find anything from epic sagas to everyday shenanigans. It's me shouting into the void and hoping someone out there gets it, connects with many of us, and maybe even joins in on the hunt for answers and resources in Eastern Montana!

Bloggers are like magicians pulling multimedia rabbits out of their hats - images, videos, links, oh my! And that's not all! They can chat it up with their readers through comments and social media, creating a cozy little online hangout. Blogging has shape-shifted over time, sprouting all kinds of blogs - personal ones, business ones, political ones, and even those super niche-specific ones for the true connoisseurs out there.

"So, you wanna be a top-notch blogger, huh?" The key is to whip up some top-notch, super-duper, mind-blowing content that speaks to your audience and makes their day a little brighter. And hey, don't forget about sprinkling some SEO magic on top to make sure Google notices you in the crowded internet jungle. Oh, and let's not forget the sweet, sweet cash money part - yeah, that's right, bloggers can rake in the dough with ads, sponsored posts, affiliate deals, and even hawking digital goodies. So, get ready, cause I am about to blog my way to fame and fortune, my friend! Ok, that was maybe a little smartassy, because, why not?

Imagine trying to sign in as a blogger at a City Council meeting, thinking it's your big break to promote your website. Well, spoiler alert: it's like trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum - totally pointless! (nor was it ever intended, but we will circle back to that in another blog)

Is blogging a form of fantasy writing or story telling? Well, duh, of course it can be! Seriously, one of the coolest things about fantasy writing or storytelling is the whole world-building gig. Authors get to play architect and design every little thing about their world - from the geography to the history, cultures, and even languages. It's like creating a whole new universe for readers to dive into, complete with its own rules and quirks. And let's not forget the epic quests, battles of good versus evil, and the classic hero's journey filled with challenges and personal growth. It's basically like being a wizard with words! Although my writing may come off as fantasy writing, I assure you, I can't make this shit up.

Can a blogger report news? Heck yeah! Bloggers, just like any other journalists, can shake things up in the news world by digging into stories, chatting with sources, making sure the facts are straight, and serving up news that's as honest, precise, and unbiased as a cat on a mission. Following the sacred commandments of journalistic ethics – like being truthful, standing on their own two feet, and owning up to their actions – helps keep reporters on the straight and narrow as they bring the good stuff to the masses. This is no different, whether in a blog or printed in the local newspaper.

Always remember, news reporting isn't just about spilling the tea on what's happening - it's also like the superhero of truth, keeping everyone in check, stirring up juicy debates, and influencing what people think based on all facts. In this crazy world of instant likes and shares, news reporting is like the cool kid at the party, serving up fresh, legit, and mind-blowing info to all those curious minds out there.

Ever heard of New Journalism? It's like regular journalism, but with a twist! Picture this: reporters not just reporting the news, but actually diving headfirst into the chaos. It's a wild ride that mixes news with storytelling to give you the most immersive scoop possible. So buckle up, 'cause I'm about to take you on a rollercoaster of firsthand experiences intermixed with fact finding and truths.
